Cocoa Beach priest removed after sexual abuse allegation

Catholic leaders have removed the pastor of a Cocoa Beach church after allegations of sexual abuse were made against him stemming from his time at a previous assignment.

The Rev. David C. Gillis of the Church of Our Savior was removed Wednesday by Bishop John Noonan of the Diocese of Orlando pending the outcome of an investigation in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the diocese said in a statement. Earlier this year, Gillis was appointed to the Cocoa Beach church.
